Why borrow, don’t buy?
So what’s the alternative?
Well obviously it’s borrowing but the hard part is how do you find what you need to borrow. Luckily, we have the answer, The Library of Things.
The Library of Things works just like a normal library, except instead of books, you’re borrowing tools and equipment. Need a drill for one job, a gazebo for a weekend, or a carpet cleaner for a one off spill? Rather than buying something you’ll use once or twice then never again, you can borrow it, use it, and hand it back once you’re done. It’s stocked with all sorts, from power tools and gardening kit to camping gear and household equipment, so there’s usually something for whatever the job is. You pay a small fee, and the item goes straight back into circulation for the next person to use.
Our challenge to you…
This week, try uploading something to the Library of Things. Once you’ve added something yourself, you’re far more likely to actually use the Library going forward, rather than forgetting it exists. And while your item sits there, it’s helping someone else in the community too.
