SAF’S CLOTHES-SWAP: HERE ON MARCH 29th!

Shopping other people’s wardrobe helps reduce excess clothing waste. You’re not just swapping but upgrading clothes from ones you don’t wear to ones you will! NB: This is an adults’ clothes swap, we may run a children’s clothes swap at a later date.

How it works: Bring up to 10 items of clothing, accessories & shoes to swap. Saf’s Swap Shop accepts all shapes, styles & sizes if they are freshly cleaned & in good condition.
Tickets: Tickets to Saf’s Swap Shop are £8 (plus booking fee £1.38) per person with 20% of each ticket sale donated to the ECO Action Hub. Purchase tickets via Eventbrite: Click Here
What happens next? Once dropped off, items are exchanged for relevant tokens. For fairness, there’s a tiered token system: bronze, silver and gold. Items are categorized by type, brand, RRP and condition. Swappers receive tokens to exchange for preloved items.

  • Saturday 29th March between 11am -12pm (1 hour before the event)

Clothes Swap Date & Time:

  • Saturday 29th March between 1pm – 3pm
  • Go home with a new wardrobe of clothes … !

ECO Cafe – Enjoy a choice of fresh coffee, tea and hot chocolate!

  • Choose carbon-friendly plant-based oat milk
  • Or if you prefer cow’s milk, pay a small cheeky ‘cow tax’!
  • Sit and relax, maybe work on our free WIFI on comfortable sofas.
  • Browse our displays and build – or refresh – your personal action plan?
  • Check out Filling Good with their full range of zero-waste shopping goodies
  • Or just chat!? Maybe while your children enjoy our “Young Eco” play zone?

All drinks and brownies are offered free but donations are very much appreciated: we’d gently suggest £3.00 for coffee and £2.00 for a brownie. We look forward to seeing you!

The ECO Cafe: A great place to meet, work, learn … or just have great coffee!

If you want to know more about our coffee, tea or brownies – read on …

  • Our coffee beans come from local company Moneyrow Beans. We have three flavours of coffee bean available, two of which support important causes.
  • First we have Cocagi Femmes, which comes from a group of 250 women, who each have around 320 trees in Rwanda.
  • Our second coffee for cause, is the Arabica roasted Kanyonyi Coffee. Beans for this coffee are produced by farmers that neighbour the gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda and are a part of the Gorilla Conservation Coffee.
  • And of course we have great decaf available for the caffeine-free folks!
  • Tea lovers can sip on Clipper’s Fairtrade blends, featuring plastic-free biodegradable tea bags. Our café has a variety of teas to pick, from traditional English Breakfast to herbal teas such as chamomile and peach.
  • Pair your choice of hot beverage with our fantastic Epic brownies! We have vegan and gluten free option for just £2 a slice. So far, our café has had flavours from original, salted caramel, flake and to the very popular chocolate orange!

Join Greenpeace’s “Buy Now”: Film & Welcome Event

On 16th February, Greenpeace Berkshire will be in Eco Action WAM in Maidenhead, hosting a welcome event film screening of ‘Buy Now: The Shopping Conspiracy’. 

This film screening and welcome event is a great opportunity to watch and discuss the fantastic new film ‘Buy Now! The Shopping Conspiracy’; directed by Emmy-winning writer and film maker Nic Stacey, which exposes the tricks companies like Amazon use to keep people buying, and the true costs of overconsumption on people and planet. !

It’s also an opportunity to meet and get to know your local Greenpeace group, find out what we do, and how you can take part in our campaigns. Come join us to grow our movement for change! The cafe will be open for refreshments .
