With COP30 taking place this November in Brazil, ECO Action WAM is gearing up for a month-long local awareness campaign and activities with our amazing partners — because every small action makes a difference!

From 25th October to 23rd November, we’ll be celebrating and showcasing the many inspiring climate and nature initiatives happening right here in our community.

Together with our ECO Action Partners and extended network, we’ve created a shared calendar of events, activities, and actions designed to inspire, connect, and amplify our collective impact.

Repair Cafe Saturday 11th October

  • Bring treasured broken possessions to our Repair Cafe and give them new life!
  • See our team rebuilding, repairing and recycling things that might otherwise be thrown away.
  • And while here discuss #COP, world Climate Change, Brazilian Rain Forest, Fossil Fuels – feel free to have a conversation ADN have your item repaired!

Open from 10:00 to 15:00. Repair skills available include:
– small electrical items (excludes microwaves and large items)
– laptops/computers, phone repairs (except screen repairs)
– IT assistance(e.g. anti-virus, software updates)
– glass repairs, book binding, fixing picture frames
– basic woodwork, small furniture items
– sewing and mending, textiles repairs

We aim to fix anything, our volunteers love to solve problems!

We’re busy with marketing outreach on social-media, email-newsletter and our website. Our marketing team work well – but now we need someone to help us grow more across all these platforms and with great communications!

We’re looking for someone with ‘any’ level of marketing skills to join our volunteer marketing team. If you’ve an interest in climate & the environment, want to ‘do something that makes a difference’, have some marketing skills & capability you want to build on, we’d love to talk to you.

Wild Maidenhead presents Heal the Land

Why: a compelling, inspiring and hopeful film about the transformation of a former intensive dairy farm in Somerset into a thriving new place for nature and people. Join for a journey of drama, discovery and insight into the start of this rewilding journey, with a remarkable array of wildlife and astonishing new arrivals.

What: The 25-minute documentary, filmed at the Heal Somerset site during 2024, will be followed by Q&A with Jan Stannard – CEO of Heal Rewilding and founder member of Wild Maidenhead. Heal Rewilding’s website

Calling all young Eco Warriors in Maidenhead – Drop in to play in our child-friendly Eco Action Hub! Bring your friends and your parents or carers to play too!

  • We’ve got singing, story-telling, drawing and a space to play!
  • Bring your Parents or Carers too!
  • Up to age 4 1/2 during school term dates
  • Parents must stay & accompany children
  • Don’t forget our ECO Cafe – with epic brownies!
  • Please do leave a donation if possible at the Hub

RBWM Green Travel Day

RBWM Residents are invited to a Green Travel Day event – where you can speak to local transport provider about your options and join talks to find out more about travelling sustainably.

The event will be held at Braywick Nature Centre on Saturday 4 October, from 11am to 2pm. No need to book, just turn up!
